On the bench today is this late 1940’s Rickenbac On the bench today is this late 1940’s Rickenbacker horseshoe pickup that arrived with no output. After research, testing, and inspection; this pickup was repaired and upgraded with new period appropriate lead wire. It measures 1687 Ohms confirming the low impedance output. His design goal was to take our guitar tone anywhere from Fender clean boost to Tweed/Dumble territory. After several hours of test driving prototype # 2, I love the tone I’m getting out of it.
