Seasons Greeting from Denis and I. We send our best wishes for a happier, healthier, and kinder world in 2026

We are still alive and well. We have accomplished a lot since our last blog post. Denis decided to design new hum rejecting pickups, aka “humbuckers” for our electric guitars. He started this project with off the shelf bobbins, magnets, base plates, covers, rings, and pickup wire from established industry suppliers.

Denis has hand wound dozens of mini and full size “humbucker” pickups over the past 50 years while designing and making a wide range of inspiring analog audio tools for himself because he likes to and for others professionally. That personal experience defines his electronic, mechanical, physical, and sonic standards.

Then came his personal touches. Hours spent designing, writing G-code, and prototyping led to success making our own solid wood pickup covers and pickup rings made from the same slab of local Black Walnut as our body core, fret board, and bridge.

Then he designed, coded, prototyped, and succeeded in making our own base pickup base plates from hardwood. Now our hum rejecting wide bandwidth pickups parts purchase list is reduced to magnets, pickup wire, plastic bobbins, and wood. This is how we craft electric guitars one at a time…inspiring electro-acoustic tone and no unwanted audio artifacts.

Thanks for your time!
